New Liverpool ONE buskers wanted

Liverpool ONE is on the search for talented buskers to showcase their musical abilities.

On Thursday 16 August at 5pm at The Beach on Chavasse Park buskers are invited to take part in Liverpool ONE’s 6th busking audition to recruit the best busking talent the city has.

Music is a key part of Liverpool ONE’s offer to its visitors. From rooftop gigs to piano festivals, music is always top of the bill. Buskers have been auditioning since 2009 and successful busking auditionees will be invited back to book slots and perform at Liverpool ONE.

Liverpool ONE are keen to introduce a wide range of music to visitors and the audition format ensures that a variety of music and performers are chosen. Buskers will then be given an allocated time and space to perform and interact with the public.

New for this season are the Busk Stops, these treble clef shaped stops provide a ready made bucket where contributions can be made. Liverpool ONE now also has a busking stage that will move throughout the site.

The judging panel will include representatives from Liverpool ONE and Liverpool Sound City. Liverpool Sound City will also be picking their favourite act at the audition who will win Sound City 2013 wristbands.

Donna Howitt, Marketing Director at Liverpool ONE said: “We love having live music at Liverpool ONE and are continually seeking new talent to perform. We are really looking forward to hearing the audition performances and we hope to uncover more gifted musicians.”

Helly, member of the Rag Tag Misfits and a busker at Liverpool ONE said: “We’ve been busking in Liverpool ONE since the beginning of the year and it’s great to be given the opportunity to perform in safe and vibrant surroundings. With so many people visiting Liverpool ONE it has also given us a chance to perform to a diverse audience and we’ve even been booked for some gigs as a result!”
